The Patient Representatives in our clinics are the first point of contact for patients as they arrive for their appointments. We are looking for individuals who embody our company's core values to provide quality patient experiences at CEENTA. 
This position will greet patients as they arrive for their appointments in our Huntersville office. We are Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates, P.A. (CEENTA), the region's premier eye, ear, nose, and throat care provider for adults and pediatric patients for more than 95 years, and we are looking to add to our team.
As the largest multi-specialty practice on the East Cost - with nearly 20 locations throughout North and South Carolina, over 140 providers offering comprehensive adult and pediatric care, and a full list of ancillary departments and services - we strive to hire the best staff possible to take excellent care of our patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Collect patient information necessary for office visit including demographics and insurance information and enter in Practice Management system. Manage communication from patients in person by phone, internet or other correspondence to schedule and/ or confirm patient appointments; including patients on a waiting or no show list to ensure they are seen in a timely manner.  Create and release communication for patient education on location, provider, specialty and any necessary information needed prior to the appointment.   Manage clinic A/R; collect balances from patients prior to appointment when appropriate, educate patients on payment expectations and arrangements.   Maintain appearance of lobby and patient areas outside of clinical areas.   Provide surveys to receive feedback from our patients to guarantee excellent patient care. Customer Service: Demonstrate exemplary customer service to ensure a positive patient experience. Information Collection & Management – Able be able to collect, organize, and monitor patient information and clinical data accurately and efficiently. This data includes Protected Health Information (PHI), which must be handled in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA). Analytical Thinking: Gathers clinical data including patient vitals, chief complaint, allergies and medications and assess possible alerts for the provider of abnormal data. Adaptability: Openness to different and new ways of doing things; willingness to modify one's preferred way of doing things and demonstrates openness to new organizational structures, procedures, and technology. Organizational Skills: Plans and organizes tasks and work responsibilities to achieve objectives. Sets priorities. Schedules and completes tasks in an appropriate time span. Patient Facing Communication: Ability to effectively communicate expectation of treatments and therapies. Educate patient using patient friendly wording to increase patient comprehension of medical service. Education and/ or Experience: High school degree or GED and a minimum of 1 year of related work history , preferably in a medical office environment.
Skills and Abilities: Customer Service and organizational skills, data entry, written and verbal communication skills, maintain positive team-oriented attitude with an attention to detail. Network computer software applications, practice management software and applicable electronic medical record software. The Patient Representative directly impacts CEENTA's ability to achieve its mission as they play an integral role in patient care delivery, providing administrative and clinical support to the Providers.  
Supervision: The Patient Representative reports to the Practice Manager, as well as the Practice Supervisor and/or Office Coordinator when applicable.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 
Physical and Mental Demands  The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  
Physical Demands: 
Occasionally assists with moving or positioning wheelchair bound patients, clinical equipment, and office supplies up to 300 pounds  Frequently required to stand; walk; sit in front of a computer; type; perform repetitive mouse clicks; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms to assist patients and/or providers/staff  Mental Demands: 
Ability to problem solve  Ability to work under pressure   Ability to make quick decisions  Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment  Ability to use discretion and sensitivity  Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with core hours:
Monday- Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST Hours are subject to variation based upon clinic needs. 
Travel: Travel to our Huntersville office is required for this role.
