Duties/Responsibilities: Facilitate outreach events, including awareness and tabling events.
Complete content specific onboarding training and ongoing professional development. Prepare brochures and information sheets related to interpersonal violence, substance use prevention, healthy relationships, and sexual health. Uses creativity to assist Health Promotion in making visuals for prevention strategies across campus. Creates buttons for students and employees to raise awareness about certain Health Promotion related issues. Effectively deliver culturally competent, social justice-oriented education to diverse audiences. Assists the Healthy Relationship/Sexual Health Coordinator in receiving, preparing and dispersing Condom Express Orders. Operates various office machines such as copy machine, calculator, paper cutter, etc.

Position Summary: Fontaine Peer Educators provide support and assistance to all aspects of the Health Promotion department including Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention, Alcohol and other Drug Use Prevention, Sexual Health Education, and Nutrition Services. This position will manage multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining actively engaged in duties. This position will communicate effectively with staff and peers to ensure tasks are completed accurately in a busy environment with ongoing deadlines.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position: Preferred Major in Public Health, Heath Promotion, Social Work, Communications or related field. Previous experience with public speaking.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies : Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Ability to facilitate challenging conversations with respect and empathy. Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, on campus and in the community. A commitment to working with diverse populations.
Physical Demands: Transport light weight equipment (computer and program materials) across campus and to offsite presentations.
