Made Possible.Finishing Machine OperatorMISSION / SUMMARY:Sets up and operates machine to cut folding cartons by performing the following duties.JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.Operates production machinery in accordance with company standardsMake-ready, adjusts and runs job as efficiently as possible to meet safety and productivity standardsProduces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerancesObtains job tickets and reviews prior to running ordersMeasures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specificationsMaintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded piecesInspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenanceMaintains a clean, safe and orderly work areaEnsures that appropriate contact relief is made, and machine hands-off occurs during shift changesWorks as a leader of the crew, overseeing operator assistants, feeders, packers, and inspectors working on the machineBACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)1-3 years related experience and/or trainingSKILLS:Ability to troubleshoot, adjust and debug to finalize most machine lines required in-house or at the customer's facilityKnowledge of basic manufacturing practices and strong problem-solving skillsAbility to interpret and translate designs and documentationBasic mechanical ability to adjust the equipment to maximize production and ensure quality standards are met or exceededAbility to match or detect differences between colorsMaintain cooperative working relationships, demonstrates a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees and supervisionPerform all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervisionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBasic computer and data entry skillsSCHEDULE DEMANDS:Must be able to work 8 hour shifts plus overtime as required.Employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Standing: 34-66% of timeWalking: 34-66% of timePushing/Pulling: Frequently with a force of 10 lbs. Occasionally with a force of 50 lbs. Rarely with a force of 10 lbs.Lifting: Frequently with a force of 10 lbs. Occasionally with a force of 50 lbs.
