Job Overview:
The Tucson Family Support Specialist will provide compassionate assistance to parents in accessing services, navigating systems, and coordinating care among providers. This role involves staying informed about available services in the community to enhance access to care and reduce stress for parents.
Job Duties:
- Care Coordination: Supporting intake processes, obtaining permissions, communicating with healthcare networks, resolving challenges efficiently, and updating databases.
- Family Support: Serving as the initial point of contact for families, educating on funding sources, providing emotional support, and brokering contacts.
- Staying Informed: Attending meetings, case management sessions, and community events, and being an internal expert on programs and resources.
Requirements:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of personal/lived experience navigating care systems and 2 years of professional experience with strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs and familiarity with Arizona care systems.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Background check, Tuberculosis test, and other hiring requirements.
