ELECTRICAL CO-OP PROGRAMPurpose:Partner with campuses with electrical programs to assist them with ensuring appropriate classroom training is provided to students to whom Thunder Basin Coal Company (TBCC) could provide part-time, on-the-job training, with the ultimate goal of developing candidates with the skills to be hired into an electrician role at TBCC.Eligibility Guidelines:Participants must be at least 18 years of ageParticipants must be enrolled in Gillette College or Western Dakota Technical Institute full-time (typically, at least 12 credit hours)Participants must be enrolled in an industrial electronics program (or similar program to prepare students for a career as an electrician)Program:Participants will receive on-the-job training in electrical work by carded electricians.Participants will work at TBCC during breaks, weekends, or other times they are available outside of school.Participants will receive Tech 1 wages for time worked at TBCC.Participants will be reimbursed for each semester's tuition costs (except cost of books, which are not reimbursed), provided the following conditions are met:Submission of grade report, with grade of C or better in each classSubmission of paid receiptParticipants will be considered for full-time employment, after completion of the following:Requirements for Associate's degree in Industrial Electronics or similar program, with grade of C or better in all classes.Successful performance in the on-the-job training at TBCC. Performance includes work quality and quantity, attendance, and other behavioral indicators such as communication, safety, teamwork, etc.Participants will be required to repay tuition paid by the company if they turn down an offer of regular employment.Participants will be required to repay tuition paid by the company if they leave employment prior to completion of one year of employment. Participants will be required to repay 50% of the tuition paid by the company if they leave employment between one and two years of employment.
