Job summary
Provides delegated patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and Physician.Anticipates and prioritizes patient needs and assists with procedures and treatments.Performs clerical activities and maintains inventory levels.

Responsibilities
• Performs direct patient care based on patient and family needs.• Anticipates EDP needs to set up procedural trays and performs HazMat decontamination.• Obtains accurate vital signs, reports findings to nurse, and performs hourly rounding.• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges.• Processes specimens and performs phlebotomy duties.• Performs clerical activities to maintain patient information and communication with physician practices.• Facilitates communication between disciplines.• Promotes patient satisfaction through personal interaction.• Responds to call lights/intercom/telephones and assists with patient needs.• Assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.• Minimum 6 months of relative experience and basic medical terminology/computer literacy required.• EMT, NAI, and BLS certification required.• Current Nurse Aide I with NC Division of Facility Services and completion of EMT course with NC certification preferred.
