Summary
We are looking for someone available 9:30 am-6:00 pm Monday through Friday. The Teacher supports the team and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he/they must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. Our teaching environment is kind and encourages children to explore. Children's safety and happiness is our number one priority. We are looking for someone who enjoys the vital work of bringing joy into the world. The position assists the staff in implementing a quality educational program and developing positive relationships with the children and their families; the assistant Teacher observes and documents children's interests and progress and relays that information to families and staff. The assistant floats between classrooms, relieving the Teacher for breaks and supporting students during play. Teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director. Students range from ages 12 months to 5 years old. Duties Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children. Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials. Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports. Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling. Keep a clean and organized classroom Follow all center policies and state regulations. Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Requirements 18 years of age or older Minimum one year of experience working with children Strong oral and written communication skills and basic technology skills. A strong understanding of child development. Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. Must clear full background check.
