Overview: As the Director of Relationship Marketing at REI, you will lead initiatives to maximize the lifetime value of our members by leveraging best-in-class direct marketing vehicles and advancing our lifecycle marketing programs. You will be instrumental in enhancing member-to-member communications and ensuring that our marketing strategies are seamlessly integrated across all channels.
Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Spearhead the strategy and execution of direct marketing across multiple channels including email, direct mail, SMS, and push notifications to drive member engagement and revenue growth. Innovate and scale our lifecycle marketing program to enhance member retention and loyalty. Enhance member-to-member communications, ensuring that our messaging fosters a deep member loyalty and engagement, and aligns with REI's brand values. Partner with senior leaders and across divisions to educate and align on the strategic use of marketing resources, addressing the common challenge of prioritizing initiatives within the direct marketing space. Manage a team of marketing professionals, setting a vision for the department and fostering an environment of growth and innovation. What You Bring: Proven expertise in leading direct marketing channels teams and scaling lifecycle marketing strategies, at scale with a large member/subscriber base. Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and educate senior leaders and stakeholders on direct marketing and lifecycle best practices. Excellent ability to manage cross-functional projects and partnerships. Commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and ethics in all marketing practices. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of progressively accountable marketing leadership. Team leadership of 10+ person team. Pro knowledge of marketing function and competencies including: strategic planning, program management and measurement, brand communication, customer insights, direct marketing, membership loyalty, customer retention, CRM/personalization initiatives Bachelors degree in business, marketing or related field. Master's degree in business, marketing or related field. Experience in a multi-channel retail company with revenue of $2B+ Innovative and strategic thinking related to direct marketing (direct mail, email, push notifications), relationship marketing/CRM, membership loyalty. Experience giving direction to and managing agency and outside partner relationships. Ability to clearly articulate a compelling vision and strategy. Exceptional analytical skills with experience developing financial plans, expense budgets and business cases. Understanding of the REI brand and the outdoor specialty retail business. Builds capacity of team members and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and supervision efforts. Creates an adaptable, mutually supportive work spirit and culture where people can do their best. Establishes trust and inspires others. Makes effective organization and people recommendations in a manner consistent with REI's values and ethics. Delivers on commitments and holds others to same. Champions the organization and advocates solutions in the overall Company's best interest. Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities. . Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in business, marketing or related field. Base Pay Range:USD $137,500.00 - USD $233,900.00 /Yr.
