Job Title: Director of Nursing (DON)

Currently, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to join our team.
Job Description: As the Director of Nursing (DON), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of quality nursing care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in long-term care and significant supervisory experience. You will be responsible for overseeing the nursing department, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction to the nursing department, including supervising nursing staff and delegating responsibilities as needed. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care facilities. Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of nursing care and resident safety. Collaborate with other department heads to coordinate resident care plans and interdisciplinary team meetings. Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and monitor the quality of care provided. Oversee staff training and development initiatives to ensure competency and professional growth. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to nursing care, medication administration, and resident assessments. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement activities to enhance resident outcomes. Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and healthcare providers to address concerns and promote positive communication. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Minimum of 5 years of experience in long-term care nursing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing long-term care facilities. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in computer skills and electronic health record systems. Commitment to resident-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
