Currently, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to join our team.
Job Description: As the Director of Nursing (DON), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of quality nursing care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in long-term care and significant supervisory experience. You will be responsible for overseeing the nursing department, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership and direction to the nursing department, including supervising nursing staff and delegating responsibilities as needed.
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care facilities.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of nursing care and resident safety.
* Collaborate with other department heads to coordinate resident care plans and interdisciplinary team meetings.
* Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and monitor the quality of care provided.
* Oversee staff training and development initiatives to ensure competency and professional growth.
* Maintain accurate documentation and records related to nursing care, medication administration, and resident assessments.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement activities to enhance resident outcomes.
* Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and healthcare providers to address concerns and promote positive communication.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
* Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in long-term care nursing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
* Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing long-term care facilities.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
* Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficiency in computer skills and electronic health record systems.
* Commitment to resident-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
