Responsibilities
• Cook and prepare food items according to standardized recipes and menus• Store and distribute prepared food items at appropriate temperatures• Prepare food and trays to meet residents' dietary needs• Assist in the preparation and servicing of special dinners and functions• Coordinate cooking and plate set-up for resident's trays• Check in food deliveries and store supplies properly• Maintain equipment and work area according to facility standards• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment daily• Maintain safety and security of the Dietary Department• Obtain input on meal preferences from residents• Attend all Dietary Department and facility meetings
Requirements
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and requirements• Knowledge of food handling and safety techniques• Ability to operate cooking and cleaning equipment• Ability to exercise independent judgment• Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively• Must be willing to obtain additional education and training• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
