Title: Design Consultant
Location: Greater Detroit, MI Area
Pay Range: Competitive Base (DOE) + Bonus plan
Our client is a leading distributor of wholesale residential and commercial building materials with rapid growth over the last 5 or so years. Due to that growth, they have been adding new, high end and luxurious brick and mortar showrooms. I am looking for a Design consultant, familiar with construction and interior design, who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys building relationship with customers. They have a vast network of 18+ distribution points to allow them to get products to their customers quickly. Position Summary The Design consultant will work mainly inside the showroom and engage with walk-in clients, design professionals, residential and commercial customers to guide and educate them through the product and design selection process for their project. Usually design, repair, remodel, or new builds. Continually update product displays, maintain the high end, showroom environment, handling product samples and provide support for customer events. Participate in meetings with showroom team members to review company information, processes, procedures and/or assignments specific to: Safety, General company business and Showroom operations. Continuously improve product knowledge by engaging with internal and external experts. Represent the company professionally and effectively in all interactions to provide the utmost in customer service. Skills/Requirements Experience in interior or construction/homeowner design for new builds ad renovations. Highly motivated self-starter who can work autonomously and in a team environment with excellent follow-up skills. Excellent communication ability, both verbal and written and engaging, welcoming personality Some experience with display set up a plus – ability and desire to interact with clients is a must. High level of integrity and commitment to doing what is right and fair for all involved.
