DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR JOB DUTIES Under the general supervision of the APA Chief, the Department Manager 5 will serve as point person regarding Sexual Assault Kit Initiative grants. This will include reviewing potential grant opportunities with WCPO Director of Grants and Legislation, preparing grant narratives for WCSAKTF related grant applications, and assisting in development of proposed grant budgets. The Department Manager 5 will also be responsible for coordinating and facilitating monthly Victim Notification Review Team Meetings, including creating agendas, contacting participants, completing minutes, and presiding over meetings.
ELIGIBLE PERSONS At the time of application, eligible persons must have:
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a related field; AND
• At least five (5) years of experience overseeing grants, which must include drafting narratives, creating budgets and timelines, and reporting performance data and goal progress to grant agencies. AND
• At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
NOTE: Knowledge of the National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative or Wayne County Sexual Assault Kit Task Force (WCSAKTF) is preferred. Applicants must describe their experience and training in sufficient detail to allow evaluation of their acceptability under the above qualifications. Additional equivalent experience or education may be used in lieu of the requirements at the discretion of the Department of Personnel/Human Resources.
