Dental Hygienist

N EEDED: Dental Hygienist LOCATION: 201 FCI Lane, Glenville, West Virginia 26351
SCHEDULE: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week QUALIFICATIONS: Required to be certified/licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the State of West Virginia. Must submit photocopies of your license and/or board certification. Must have at least one or more years of experience. Must submit current CPR certification JOB DUTIES: Shall provide the following Dental Hygienist services, which include, but are not limited to, the items listed below:
Will provide services, professional in nature, in the method as considered normal in the local community and in accordance with Joint Commission standards and Bureau of Prison policies. Generally, work under the supervision of the staff Dentist; however, may be required to work under the supervision of the Clinical Director or a BOP mid-level practitioner. Responsible for personal health care needs and costs associated with exposure, or possible exposure to any blood borne pathogen or other risk encountered during performance of this contract. Provide dental prophylaxis on inmates who are referred by the dental staff. Provide thorough individualized oral hygiene instructions to each patient. Monitor oral hygiene and periodontal condition on each patient seen for dental prophylaxis Complete necessary dental x-rays as specified by the dentist. Sterilize instruments used for prophylaxis and other instruments as specified by the dental staff. Perform necessary paperwork related to scheduling patients for dental prophylaxis as directed by the dental staff.
