Friendly and relaxed General Practice located in Independence, MO is searching for a talented dental assistant to join our amazing team. We are a privately-owned growing practice and need an ambitious and energetic dental assistant to keep up our momentum.

Full time hours (4 full days- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Half day on Friday). Salary negotiable dependent upon experience.

It is essential to be flexible, friendly and work in a team environment. In addition, the Dental Assistant must display excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure quality patient service by providing thorough patient care, effective communication, and personal attention in a gentle, caring manner Prepare the treatment rooms, patient records, equipment, and necessary instruments for dental procedures by universal safety precautions and other safety standards Provide chairside assistance to the Dentist including but not limited to general and specialty-related procedures Take quality radiographs, digital records, digital scans, and dental impressions Record accurate and concise patient/treatment information and clinical notes into dental programs as instructed by the Dentist Explain to each patient the purpose and process involved in their dental care and reinforce the treatment plan prescribed by the Dentist Explain consent in detail, answer patient questions, and obtain patient signatures on necessary consents Complete morning huddle forms to prepare for the day Perform various laboratory procedures (pouring study models, fabricating bleaching trays, etc.) Proper sterilization of equipment and maintaining sterilization area Support business goals by utilizing schedules effectively and supporting the practice revenue objectives Effectively communicate and develop a strong working relationship with the Dentist and promote teamwork through cooperative and professional behaviors Follow OSHA, HIPPA, and CDC Guidelines for a clean workplace Maintain dental equipment in proper working order Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results Ensure the operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques Responsible for stocking treatment areas Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Conduct work in compliance with Federal, State, and other regulations, (i.e. OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.) and clinic policies and practices Other duties may be assigned Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Expanded functions certification is beneficial. Nitrous certification is beneficial. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Effectively manage more than one activity at a time required Team-oriented and able to multi-task at a high pace Provide accurate and precise attention to detail Effectively assist providers Well-organized and reliable Make anterior and posterior temporary crowns with good margins and contacts Maintain professional and technical knowledge Exhibit a positive attitude is required Knowledge of Eaglesoft management software or at least taking the initiative to learn the system Keep up specified training courses as mandated by State for certification, licensure, or registration requirements. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.  The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
