Summary: To work for Allegiant Laundry Services as a van driver utilizing the ability to drive effectively to maximize efficiency and increase revenue. To pick up and deliver cargo to customers in a manner that will improve the company's efficiency and result in outstanding customer service. As a laundry technician you will be responsible for washing, drying and folding clothes, linens, and various client products. The driver/technician position assists with maintaining the laundry facilities to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver product to and pick up product from specified locations Develop and maintain an efficient routing system Ensure sales tickets are made out prior to loading or delivery Develop and maintain an organized and efficient loading and unloading system Unload cargo according to customers' requests Provide excellent customer service to Allegiant Linen Services clients Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold laundry and other textile items Load and unload laundry into and out of washing machines and dryers Load the appropriate amount and type of detergent soap, or other solutions Clean and maintain equipment, and communicates any maintenance or issues to appropriate person(s) Provide exceptional customer service to individuals using machines or inquiring of assistance or services. Keep track of laundry and client products Conduct light cleaning of facility to maintain its cleanliness and ensure appropriate sanitation Other duties as assigned. Key Qualifications: The truck driver will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within Allegiant and a favorable image of Allegiant. Driver must have Over 1 year general experience of 14 foot box truck or larger Valid and current driver's license in the state of Michigan Exceptional driving record. Adapts to frequent changes in the work environment Multitask with textile products and linens in various machines running at the same time with different products Practices safe work habits to ensure customer and staff safety Ability to follow directions as well as follow washing instructions Uses equipment and materials properly Displays reliable attendance and promptness Ability to problem solve Technological skills to record and track product/order completion Maintains appropriate appearance in regard to clothing and hygiene Excellent communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Outstanding physical dexterity – must be able to lift & load 50+ pounds Extremely well organized. Valid Michigan Driver's License with clean driving record. One year of commercial driving experience.
Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to reach with arms and hands, stand, walk, and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: This position works in a typical laundromat and laundry cleaning service environment which includes daily interaction with diverse customers and staff. Position stands for extended periods of time. Position makes frequent gross motor and fine motor skills movement including bending, stretching, extending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, eye/hand/foot coordination and lifting. Position utilizes visual and auditory memory and discrimination, reads and writes, must use judgment and make simple and complex decisions.
