Job summary
The Data Processing Specialist is responsible for completing computer processing jobs, such as printing reports, transmitting electronic files within required time frames and responding to inquiries related to computer applications.This position also works as part of a team that provides software training and support to school districts that are members of the Greater Columbia River Information Service Cooperative (GCRISC) which encompasses ESD 105, 112 and 171 regions.

Responsibilities
• Assist school districts in the monthly processing of Payroll files (e.g. uploading files, verifying correct amounts, verifying the process with districts, etc.)• Serve as system administrator for security set up and monitor network security devices and software (e.g. assign/change passwords, input new users, change existing users, deactivate users, assign permissions, etc.)• Operate, monitor and facilitate computer processing of print jobs• Order and maintain adequate supplies for data processing and printing (e.g. supplies of paper, forms, toner, labels, etc.)• Receive deliveries and process outgoing shipments• Map data between systems and create import/export files for the purpose of migrating data to/from an external system (e.g. conversion or interface)• Coordinate installation, maintenance, and other operational and technical support with Skyward or other software partners• Advise and provide technical assistance to school district personnel relating to the use of Skyward and Qmlativ finance software; including payroll, personnel, accounting, and state reporting• Help develop training guides and other learning resources (e.g. flyers, user guides, checklists, process lists, or tutorials, recordings, etc.)• Configure and customize software application features to support individual school district practices (e.g. screen, process, or business rule configuration, code lists, workflow, custom data fields, and report parameters, etc.)• Document client software application problems, resolutions and communications through use of a ticket support system• Guide districts in data entry and assist in creating monthly, annual or other time specific reports• May on occasion research WACs, RCWs, and other outside materials for the purpose of ensuring accuracy in district data practices and adherence to policies, procedures and legal requirements• May travel to school districts for the purpose of providing a variety of information services• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Minimum High School Diploma• Associate or Bachelor's degree• Experience troubleshooting financial, human resource or data management databases• Experience working with the WSIPC/Skyward software system• Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Proven ability to work independently• Excellent organizational skills and commitment to follow through on tasks and assignments• Capable of functioning effectively in a continually changing software environment• Ability to research, investigate, analyze, reconcile and evaluate data• Strong interpersonal skills; persuasive, encouraging, and diplomatic with conflict resolution skills• Effectively work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment• Superior customer service orientation• Ability to work flexible days and additional hours to meet deadlines• Personal transportation and willingness to travel
