Specifically Wednesday, Thursday, and Fri Description: Position Summary:Coordinates and participates in all computerized tomographyscanning procedures. Sets up, monitors and operates complex computerizedequipment for diagnostic purposes.Essential Functions andResponsibilities:1. Sets up andmonitors computer operation of C.T. equipment per patient. Transfers andpositions patients utilizing accepted standards of safety and proper liftingtechniques. Applies immobilization devices as necessary. 2. Provides required patientidentification. Obtains vital information from patients concerning knownallergies and pertinent medical history. 3. Properly prepares and injectscontrast media intravenously into appropriate patients as needed forexamination to be performed as protocolled by Radiologist. 4. Makes and develops images forpermanent file of each patient. Records all studies on magnetic tape for futurereference.5. Organizes daily patient schedule incooperation with work-room technician.6. Maintains image quality followingdepartment guidelines. Daily calibration and quality control of equipmentfollowing department guidelines. Assures proper repair of equipment isperformed, follows MRMC protocols for imaging procedures. 7. Responsible for electronic/digitalimage capture, storage, transfer, and copy.8. Monitors patients for allergicreaction and takes proper action as needed. Assist with emergency medicalsituations including providing basic CPR.9. Provides protection to self andpatients in accordance with current prescribed safety standards and regulationsas set forth by Michigan Department of Public Health.10. Maintains cleanliness of workingenvironment. Assures supplies are maintained within department inventorylevels.11. Instructs new personnel as needed.12. Assists Radiologists and otherphysician specialists in performance of specialized radiological procedureswith level of skill consistent with department standards.13. Reviews and records pertinentpatient history and supportive clinical data to aid Radiologist in diagnosis ofpatient.14. Maintains Registry in accordancewith regulatory agency requirements.15. Participates in Medical Center and/ordepartmental quality assessments and continuous quality improvementopportunities, goal setting, collection and evaluation of data, implementationof action plans, or related applications Submission requirements: 2+ Years of Experience - RequiredPhillips Experience - RequiredTraveler Experience -PreferredHealthsystem-wide profile standards References NOT required. A skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is required. All other professions outside of Nursing are not required but preferred. Michigan license verification is required for nurses.
