Coordinator, Office of Academic & Accessibility Resources (OAAR) Chatham University is now welcoming applications for a Coordinator, Office of Academic & Accessibility Resources.
Responsible for assisting with the planning and provision of assistive technology services for students with diagnosed disabilities at Chatham University. The person in this position will also assist the director with: interviewing students seeking disability support services; providing reading materials in alternate formats; scheduling, monitoring, and organizing distraction-limited testing; and managing the data associated with services for students with disabilities at Chatham University.

Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Director, the Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Assist with the coordination and implementation of appropriate and reasonable accommodations for qualified students with disabilities. Organize and provide assistive technology training for use by students with disabilities. Oversee the administering of disability testing accommodations: Schedule exams, communicate with faculty, proctor, read/scribe, ensure confidential return of exams to instructors. Collaborate with instructional technology department to ensure accessibility of university resources. Utilize hardware and software applications to convert materials to alternative forms such as, but not limited to, enlarged text, text-to-speech; and Braille. Schedule American Sign Language Interpreters when needed. Assist students with finding the services and/or supports within OAAR that aligns with their unique circumstances and needs Represent OAAR at admissions and other campus events and meetings as needed. Assist with scheduling, tracking, and assessment of provided services and resources within OAAR Serve as the liaison with Assistive Technology companies on behalf of OAAR to ensure up-to-date software and hardware purchases, receive information about webinars, and troubleshoot technical issues. Maintain thorough documentation and upkeep of client database and filing system. Manage departmental communications by phone and email. Assist Director with researching grants and other opportunities for accessibility services and academic support services Demonstrate commitment to equity, antiracism and the ability to foster inclusive communities, with special sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population. Demonstrate understanding of and strong commitment to excellent customer service and a student-centered experience. Experience working with students, faculty, and staff to deliver collaborative initiatives, programmatic support, and offer guidance to enhance student performance and development. Perform other duties assigned by Director, Office of Academic and Accessibility Resources Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or related field required.
Experience: Requires bachelor's degree and a minimum of one to two years comparable experience in the areas of disability services and/or academic support services. Knowledge of best practices in academic and disability service implementation and experience with learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorder preferred. Required skills include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook, ability to quickly learn and utilize proprietary educational software, exemplary written and verbal communication skills, basic math ability, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Experience with Slate and Anthology, or other Student Information System a plus. Individual should have excellent relational skills with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and the ability to support individuals from diverse cultures, abilities, and backgrounds. Must function comfortably in a team structure and be able to speak before large and small groups with confidence.
Salary Range : $41,900-$47,600. 35-hour work week.
