Description Position Title: Coord New Student & Family Programs-ENCEN
Position Overview & Job Duties: This position develops, implements, and manages activities, programs, and services related to new student orientation, family orientation, new student programs, family programs. This position is responsible for the development and execution of short and long-term plans, goal and objectives for programs to ensure alignment with university goals. Monitor and report on participation and satisfaction and recommend improvements. Develops, implements, and authorizes the expenditures of department and fee-funded group budgets and requires the ability to exercise judgement make decisions of significance while utilizing discretion. Oversee activities and budgets of student fee funded student organizations. Oversee staff, student employees, and volunteers. Oversee safety and compliance. The general schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Flexible work arrangements of one day/week work from home available after first ninety days and supervisor approval.

Manages all aspects and decision making (including logistics, publicity, development, and recruitment) for Broncho Family Programs, including but not limited to recruitment of family members, tracking of memberships, family programming at Forge (Orientation), Parent & Family Weekend, Spring Family Weekend, care packages, and the scholarship program. Co-advises the New Broncho Orientation program which involves, but is not limited to, Orientation Leader selection, training, and supervising, executive board advisement, and execution of New Broncho Orientation. Advises Welcome Home Week, a week of programming to welcome new students to campus after move-in and prior to the first week of class. Will include working with campus partners to plan and execute the week. Advises the WinterGlow program which includes all aspects and decision making (including logistics, publicity, development, and recruitment) for the program. Selects, trains, and advises a student board. Advises Winter Welcome Week, a week of programming to welcome new students in the Spring semester. Co-advises the FYE program including planning, implementation, and assessment. Reports to the Assistant Director of New Student and Family Programs. Will work some evenings and weekend activities. Performs other related duties as assigned. College/Department Overview The Office of New Student & Family Programs primary purpose is to welcome new students and families to UCO through the orientation process. In addition, the department supports students and families throughout the academic year through purposeful programming and events.
Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in job related field plus 3+ years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications Preferred: Master's degree preferred with related experience in a higher education setting. Demonstrated experience in leading, developing, implementing, and evaluating service-based programs. Budget experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to collaborate by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, students, and community partners. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, human relations, public relations, and organizational skills. Customer service and event management skills. Computer proficiency preferably in Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, and interacts professionally with all segments of the University community. Must be detail-oriented and a team player. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
