What You Will Be Doing - Reporting directly to CEO & President
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the company budget, financial forecasts and routine reports on variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Drive and implement sound month-end and year-end close processes.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Create step-by-step instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all accounting, operational processes and subledger activities.
- Research, make recommendations and implement a manufacturing-focused Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Work with IT and department leads to
oversee implementation of the software and integration into various business divisions. Train and develop staff on accounting software as necessary.
- Supervise, mentor and cross-train AP and AR support staff and streamline all department processes.
- Work closely with outside CPA to prepare year-end financial reporting and assist in tax preparation and filings.
- Audit invoices and accounts payable disbursements prior to final disbursement to customers and vendors.
- Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports, and make recommendations for improving the accounting
operations.
- Manage and analyze cost and inventory reporting and make recommendations on opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need for this Position - 2+ years of Controller experience
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting/Finance or similar
- CPA, CMA or work experience
- Manufacturing industry (preferred)
- General ledger code structure from scratch
- Experience implementing ERP system
