Pattison's Academy is a nonprofit organization with the mission to unlock the potential of individuals with disabilities and empower their families. Located in Charleston, South Carolina, we provide individualized, comprehensive, year-round programming for children with disabilities through our charter school, summer camp, therapy services, and early intervention services. Our collaborative model places the child at the center of care and surrounds them with a multidisciplinary team of specialized providers, ensuring that all children's needs are addressed with compassion and expertise. By consolidating their care network, we provide a one-stop destination with the tools necessary for children with disabilities and their families to thrive. Job Summary:
Pattison's Academy is seeking a passionate and driven Communications and Engagement Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, managing community engagement initiatives, and fostering meaningful partnerships to support our mission and goals. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications, public relations or community engagement, preferably in the non-profit sector. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Proficiency in social media management, content creation, and website management. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Creative thinker with a passion for making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. Commitment to the values of inclusion, diversity and equity. Responsibilities: The Community and Engagement Manager duties, though not exhaustive, comprise the following:
Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to increase awareness of Pattison's Academy's mission, programs, and impact. Manage all aspects of the organization's communication channels, including social media, website, newsletters, and press releases. Create engaging content, including written articles, graphics, videos, and other mulitmedia materials, to effectively communicate our message to diverse audiences. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, community partners and the media. Plan and coordinate community engagement events, fundraisers, and outreach activities to foster connections and support for Pattison's Academy. Lead the organization's branding efforts, ensuring consistency and alignment with our mission and values across all communication materials. Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies in communication and engagement to continuously enhance our efforts.
