Job Description for Cloud Infrastructure Engineer:
Design and deploy data infrastructure solutions for a new hybrid and multi-cloud data ecosystem.
Develop templates, playbooks and automation to make infrastructure support and operations scalable.
Look for opportunities to improve the reliability and efficiency when implementing and maintaining infrastructure tools and/or services.
Position Summary:
Build the cloud data platform using infrastructure as code (IAC).
Develop CI/CD pipelines for IAC.
Collaborate with technical product management and operations, to deliver the engineering roadmap following the agile model.
Help assess capabilities and integration feasibility of new technologies that are candidates for the ecosystem.
Mentor team members on best practices for implementation, deployment and operations for cloud data services.
Partner with Information Security teams to engineer secure data services on cloud platforms.
Partner with enterprise cloud platform teams to engineer service implementations that comply with cloud governance standards.
Required Skills:
Proficient in translating designs into fully developed and well structured Terraform code.
Experience in GitOps models (preferably with GitHub) with infra-as-code, config-as-code, policy-as-code, etc.
Significant experience configuring Databricks Unity catalog and compute clusters using Terraform.
Experience with hybrid/multi cloud architecture using federation/virtualization technologies (Starburst, Dremio or Denodo)
Implementation expertise on AWS technologies including Cloud Formation, IAM, S3, EC2, Glue, MWAA.
Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, subnets, routing, load balancing, firewalls, and cloud security.
Experience in enterprise-scale environments, building highly available IaaS and PaaS solutions
Experience in programming and scripting i.e. Python, Bash
Experience in Cloud logging, monitoring, and observability tools such as Datadog
Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Minimum 5+ years of Cloud Data Infrastructure Engineer working experience.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Snowflake
