Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Works closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other lab members of the Cognitive Technology Research Laboratory (CTRLab) and will be primarily responsible for coordination, database management, and execution of the Ambulatory Research in Cognition (ARC) smartphone study in the Healthy Aging and Senile Dementia (HASD) project at the Knight Alzheimerâ™s Disease Research Center (ADRC). The position requires familiarity with electronic data capture systems, general database management, and study coordination. The position will involve considerable contact with research participants for the Healthy Aging and Senile Dementia (HASD) Project 4. HASD is a longstanding cohort study based at the Knight Alzheimerâ™s Disease Center (ADRC). For HASD Project 4, the position will involve acquiring consent, explaining study procedures, providing some technical support, and maintaining contact with participants throughout their enrollment. The most critical aspects of the position include coordination of all study procedures, engaging with study participants, database management and monitoring, scheduling, and communicating with ADRC and CTRLab members. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Manages databases, monitors incoming study data, and performs basic analyses of study data for ARC smartphone assessments in the HASD studies.
Manages study databases; may include REDCap and vendor-customized relational database software. Manages a quality system to ensure compliance and to provide timely updates of data quality. Monitors study data to ensure participant adherence and to address technical issues as they arise. Performs quality control reviews of study data and provides updates at quarterly study-wide meetings. Maintains constant contact with project managers from software development firm to report bugs and manage software and OS updates. Day to day management of HASD Project 4. This will include completing HRPO documentation, coordinating with ADRC staff to ensure that HASD participants are recruited for Project 4, and maintaining study materials and equipment.
Schedules, recruits, and maintains contact with research participants to ensure adherence and to address any technical issues. Acquires consent from participants and assists with installation of ARC app. Provides instruction on ARC study procedures for participants. Fields emails and phone calls from ARC study participants and troubleshoots technical issues. Maintains all study materials and participant folders. Coordinates and tracks participant reimbursement. Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein.
Preferred Qualifications Human subjects certifications, practical experience in SOP and protocol development. Working knowledge of techniques and methodologies used in developing, coordinating, and managing clinical research projects. Working knowledge of database management. Willing to ask for clarification or track down additional information independently. Ability to establish workflows that comply with regulatory requirements. At least a basic understanding of statistical analyses. Experience working in culturally diverse environments is highly preferred. Good understanding of the operational execution of clinical protocols. Document development skills (e.g. formatting) in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat for protocol, consent forms, and other document development. Basic business writing skills required for protocols, consent forms, study summaries, and progress reports. Experience with various electronic data capture, web-based applications, and storage systems. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral). Ability to be clear, direct, and tactful when communicating with study participants, ADRC staff, vendors, departmental staff, and investigators. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree. Minimum of two years of clinical research experience. A combination of relevant work and college education equaling six years may substitute for this requirement. REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Basic Life Support certification (Online Basic Life Support certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the Basic Life Support requirements). Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date. Grade C10 Salary Range $51,600.00 - $77,400.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
