Description This position is based in the outpatient/retail pharmacy within Minoff Health Center. Position Summary The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, effective, and cost-effective use of medications through the application of specialized knowledge, skills, and professional judgment. The pharmacist serves as a patient advocate when planning and implementing pharmaceutical care by considering the patient's disease conditions, background, need for understanding and participation in drug therapy in a fiscally responsible manner. These activities occur in all aspects of pharmacy practice including adult and pediatric inpatient areas, operating room pharmacies, ambulatory oncology and outpatient services (ie., Bolwell Pharmacy). The pharmacist is legally responsible for the review and approval of all activities related to the dispensing of patient specific pharmaceuticals pursuant to a valid prescription or medication order from a practitioner as defined in ORC 4729, 4715, 4731, and/or 4741.

Qualifications QualificationsEducation Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy Required or Pharm D degree. Required Work Experience Previous hospital experience with emphasis on computerized unit dose, sterile products, and patient focused clinical skills Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Good communication skills are essential. Required Computer and office equipment, automated compounding systems.
