The Clinic Head Nurse is responsible for clinical leadership and supervision of a nursing unit.They perform various clinical nursing procedures and assist physicians with clinical procedures.They also handle patient education, insurance verification, and staff management.

Responsibilities
• Supervise and provide clinical leadership to a nursing unit.• Perform clinical nursing procedures such as starting IV's, administering chemotherapy, and performing electrocardiographs.• Assist physicians with various clinical procedures.• Accept telephone calls from patients and their families, counseling them on their illness, condition, and medicine.• Provide patient education as required.• Ensure completion of patient forms and verify insurance coverage.• Secure pre-authorization for hospital admissions and outpatient surgeries.• Schedule patients for surgery and complete pre-operation work-up.• Interview, select, develop, promote, transfer, discipline, and terminate personnel under supervision.• Develop and maintain safety plans for employees and patients.
Requirements
• RN preferred, LPN required.• Minimum of 2 years experience in nursing supervision.• Demonstrated management and clerical skills.
