Responsibilities
• Manage highly complex investigations of claims• Determine settlement or litigation strategy for major claims• Negotiate settlement packages and authorize payment• Coordinate third party recovery• Make recommendations on claims processes and resolution strategies• Prepare and present reports• Work with attorneys, account representatives, agents, doctors, and insureds• Keep current on regulations and industry trends• Provide guidance and assistance to less experienced claims staff• Input accurate claim data• May serve as a mentor/coach• May perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
• Advanced technical and product specific expertise• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills• Ability to deal with ambiguous situations• Creativity in resolving business problems• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software• Ability to adapt to change and value diverse opinions and ideas• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects• Ability to evaluate claims based on cost benefit analysis• Ability to comprehend complex claim facts and issues• Ability to implement strategies with a long-term view of business goals• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience• Minimum eight years of relevant experience• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License• Professional designations are a plus
