Job Description:Summary:The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams to provide computer-aided drafting expertise using AutoCAD on a Windows platform with a strong emphasis on Civil 3D. This person will undertake challenging work on civil engineering projects involving data collection, planning, and problem solving. You will work with engineers to create, update, and revise drawings of mechanical, electrical, structural, or civil systems. Project responsibilities include development and management of overall project CAD file structure, basefiles, planimetrics, design surfaces and pipe drafting networks, construction drawings and renderings including assistance with determining quantities for cost estimating, and report preparation. Additional responsibilities may include construction observation, surveying, and monitoring.Minimum Qualifications:Two-year technical certificate or experience/coursework directly related to the job responsibilities described above5 years of experience with civil engineering project design, layout, and production drafting workflowProficiency with current versions of AutoCAD/Civil 3DProficiency with Microsoft Excel and word processing softwareStrong technical skills including attention to detail, accuracy, and completenessStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsAbility and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members in a high-energy working environment that encourages self-initiativeStrong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyA flexible working style and willingness to modify personal schedule when required to meet deadlines and client needsLegal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the futureValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordPreferred Qualifications:7+ years of experience working on projects directly related to job responsibilities described above at a consulting engineering firmFamiliarity with software packages including additional drafting packages such as Revit and GeopakFamiliarity with work in an industrial environment and basic knowledge of various industrial disciplines and industrial constructionA hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of any of Barr's U.S. offices.Colorado Applicants OnlyCompensation:The anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000-$80,000. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
