Certified Medical Assistant - Urbandale Urgent Care Urbandale, Iowa PRN, as needed shifts Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for examination, recording vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints. Assist healthcare providers in medical procedures, examinations, and minor surgical interventions. Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments as directed by healthcare providers. Administrative Duties: Manage patient appointments, coordinate referrals, and maintain accurate patient records. Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and provide information regarding appointments and services. Laboratory and Diagnostic Support: Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing. Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and point-of-care testing. Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures and coordinate follow-up care. Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with information on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care. Offer guidance on lifestyle modifications, disease management, and health promotion. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure seamless patient care. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the improvement of clinical processes. High School Diploma or equivalent. Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Mandatory Reporter. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Why UnityPoint Health?
