General Function:
As a CECL Risk Analyst, you'll work closely with the Credit Risk Allowance Analyst and Senior Risk Allowance Analyst to support the Allowance for Loan Loss Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include aiding in the estimation of the bank's Allowance from a credit and risk perspective, contributing to the development and documentation of provisioning methodologies, and recommending prudential loan loss reserve ratios. This role entails gathering data, executing reporting, and conducting analysis to support the allowance for loan loss process and methodology. You'll have direct interaction with ALLL management, senior analysts, corporate accounting, and risk management personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and producing methodologies and reporting for the Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL).
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of ALLL methodology, calculations, and related reports.
- Help prepare and distribute the quarterly allowance package.
- Support the execution of various statistical, credit, and financial analyses, incorporating macroeconomic trends and indicators.
- Perform segmentation analysis of ALLL across industry, geography, product, and other relevant factors.
- Participate in stress testing of ALLL and execute back tests of ASC 326 (CECL) specific allowances and models.
- Maintain procedural documents, data, and calculation reference material.
- Collaborate with teams to design and implement new models and methodologies, enhancing the quality and consistency of estimation processes.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and issue resolution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial and/or risk areas within a financial services, insurance, or regulatory organization, with a focus on credit risk and allowance for loan losses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly strong Excel skills; experience with SAS is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment involving financial and/or risk management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
