This position will be responsible for driving the construction category and supplier relationships for all global construction projects. You will engage externally with architects and design firms, construction management and general contracting companies.Internally, you assist management with supervision of project sourcing teams and partner with Global Facilities construction team to understand scope, schedule and budget throughout the duration of the project. You will work with Micron Legal to align the contract strategy needed to support each project, and then drive compliance to that contract. The primary goal of this position is to deliver the greatest value of each construction contract, which require strong sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and overall project management skills.What's Encouraged Daily:Act as primary point of contact for assigned construction suppliersLead Supplier Relationship GloballyPerform commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliersMaintain collaborative relationships with supplier(s) while optimally resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron's strategic directionEnsure suppliers follow Micron's business ethics, code-of-conduct programs, and corporate safety policies and social responsibility initiativesCommunicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization including Executive Leadership and enlist senior management, when appropriate, to help reinforce dedication and involvement from suppliersDrive Negotiations with SuppliersLead or participate in negotiations for construction contract and incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into conversationsLead sourcing events/RFQ processDevelop a contract strategy for each project, including to build, negotiate, supervise and implement contracted terms and conditionsLead Supplier PerformanceAlign with Global Facilities collaborators and sites teams to build comprehensive view of supplier performanceContract Administration ensuring all contractual obligations are being fulfilled by both Owner and ContractorOwn and lead overall Strategic Supplier relationships for construction categoryCollaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics for Strategic Suppliers and supervise supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvementLead in prioritizing and delivering on strategic supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review MeetingsBuild and Implement Construction Category StrategyParticipate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal settingProvide market intelligence and price trends to relevant internal partners on a well-adapted scheduleApply should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplaceServe as the subject matter authority for construction procurement category and share knowledge with key partners and Indirect teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and executionSupervisory SupportSupport procurement leadership by supervising project sourcing team membersSupport development of project level staffing support plansSupport documenting project level procurement strategies and timelinesMaintaining key project level priorities and supervising progress to planInitial point of escalation for project level team members>25% Travel as neededHow To Qualify:Bachelor's Degree or higherPMP certification or equivalent, preferredExperience leading multiple large-scale projects concurrently5+ years experience in construction, construction management and/or construction procurement or contractingConstruction contract negotiation and administrationProficient in MS officeComfort around Senior Leaders and Executives, ability to build and deliver executive-level presentationsSupervisory experience leading sourcing teamsPreferredExperience with industry-standard contracts (FIDIC or AIA) and/or Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) contractingKnowledge of CSA and MEP systems, generally accepted standards of workmanship in construction and infrastructure systemsKnowledge of innovative construction practices, may include BIM (or greater) technology, pre-fabrication, etc.Knowledge of project controls and standard project reportingAs a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
