Salary $45,000 year Scope of Position: As a Career Navigator at our high-volume Comprehensive Job Center, you will play a pivotal role in providing career counseling and job placement assistance to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to offer support and assistance in all facets related to obtaining, retaining employment, and advancing in their careers. This role demands an organized individual capable of efficiently managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct personalized assessments of work, family, and personal development needs, and opportunities for each customer. Determine WIOA eligibility and ensure accurate completion of required documentation for enrollment into the Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth program Facilitate program enrollments to meet assigned goals promptly Establish professional one-on-one relationships with customers to address challenges hindering employment Provide referrals to appropriate community or social service agencies when necessary Encourage customer participation in planned activities and ensure follow-through Support with outreach and marketing initiatives to attract new customers to the American Job Centers Identify job-ready customers and refer them to Job Developers for employment opportunities Oversee customer activities and assist in scheduling workshops Initiate supportive services and follow through on subsequent steps Maintain an organized customer database and detailed documentation of all interactions Manage customer files efficiently Perform accurate and timely data entry as required Share pertinent information with appropriate staff and funding agencies Conduct consistent and comprehensive case management follow-up, ensuring all required contacts are made Document all participant interactions and activities in case progress notes Assist in the preparation of project reports, as necessary Ensure the achievement of positive outcomes and goals Collaborate with the team to implement processes that enhance customer engagement Efficiently manage a high volume of work using strong time management skills Embrace other opportunities as they arise Education and Experience Requirements: Previous career counseling experience is essential Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and accurately document visits and contacts Proficient in telephone, computer, and written communication skills Ability to maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
