Position SummaryUnder the direct supervision of the Associate Vice President – Enrollment, in conjunction with the Senior Director of Enrollment Management, Registrar, and Enrollment Management Business Analyst, the Business Systems Analyst will support a comprehensive enrollment management operation and aid in the technical analysis, troubleshooting, and operational support of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (student) system in use by students, staff, and student employees at San Diego State University. The analyst will also assist in supporting integrations between the Student Information System and other enterprise systems, including the uAchieve degree audit system, Slate CRM and the OnBase imaging/workflow system.Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of enhancements to complex projects and support continuous process improvements. Aid in providing consultation and facilitating the analysis and definition of system operations, business rules, and user requirements, and Work cross-functionally to solve problems, improve interfaces, and implement changes.Assist with the coordination and monitoring of operational processes, query optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions SIS configuration. This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.This position is eligible for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.Department SummaryEnrollment Services comprises Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Evaluations, Office of the Registrar, Prospective Student Services, and Enrollment Communications. Enrollment Services implements SDSU enrollment management policies and provides services to students from their initial point of interest in SDSU to their graduationFor more information regarding Enrollment Services, click here .Education and ExperienceTo enter this classification, a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in applications programming and systems analysis and related programming support functions is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or business, or equivalent training and applied experience. Foundation knowledge and skills for the Analyst/Programmer, depending on the position assignment, may include working knowledge of a specific industry standard applications programming language and knowledgeKey QualificationsExperience in the business analysis of process improvement and application development in higher education or other regulated industries.Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.Experience writing queries.Strong technical skills, including proficiency in SQL.Goal-oriented with strong initiative, imagination and organizational qualities.Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Compensation and BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $5,834 per month.Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.San Diego State University offers a rich benefits package that constitutes a major portion of total compensation.
