FreeStar Financial Credit Union is looking for a dynamic and passionate professional to lead our Sterling Heights and Shelby Township Branches. Job Location: Shelby Township & Sterling Heights Days: Monday Thru Friday w/ Occasional Saturdays Salary: $60,000 - $65,000/annually (Up to a 5% annual incentive) Benefits: 4 weeks PTO available in the first year 401k with up to a 6% match Up to a 5% year-end bonus Position Purpose: The Branch Manager will help to drive operations and effective team member development while ensuring exceptional member service and branch goal achievement. This person actively engages in activities supporting efficient and compliant branch operations, coaching, and leadership strategies to support the credit unions' mission, vision, strategic plan, and goals. Playing a key role in building and maintaining member relationships.
What You'll Do In This Role: Ensure self and team members can positively impact the lives of our members, team members, and community through making meaningful connections and progressive financial solutions. This is accomplished by identifying member needs, every member, every time, and plan, control and coordinate branch operations. Problem solve issues that arise with established polices and guidelines. Lead, coach and develop the branch team to meet goals and deadlines as established to include, but not limited to ensuring team members meet monthly minimum performance expectations as established by leadership. Coach team to maintain strong product knowledge through frequent observations, work inspection, and providing regular feedback. Ensure teller and member transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and within established compliance and credit union guidelines. Actively follow-up and review branch activities to ensure compliance. Lead the branch team to service all members with their questions and concerns and to improve the financial lives of our membership. Motivates, coaches, trains, and develops the branch team holding them accountable to the service promises, mission, vision, goals and productivity standards defined by the Credit Union. Assists with member escalations to resolve concerns and issues. Plan, control, manage and coordinate branch operation activities to include, but not limited to scheduling, maintaining adequate staffing, directing work, cross-training, reporting, overseeing loan, teller and member services operations. Conduct team member check-ins and provides input in department level sales/training meetings where goals are actively discussed, set and reviewed. Provide superior service to member requests by assisting them with, but not limited to, teller transactions, new account openings, loan originations and other account service requests. Evaluate job performance by timely completion of team member performance documentation that should include positive redirection and feedback to ensure the team member's success. Comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. What You'll Bring To FreeStar Financial: Two to Five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. A high school degree or GED is required. Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to process and analyze loan applications. Demonstrated knowledge of business, personal, and insurance products and services. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply financial information (e.g., credit scores, debt, assets, balances, payments, interest rates, etc.) and perform math functions (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios). Demonstrated ability to consult, provide member services, and achieve relationship sales objectives by anticipating and understanding member's needs and recommending products that will benefit them. Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and judgment by gathering and applying relevant data to research and resolve issues. Proficiency in leading, coaching, developing, and holding team accountable. Ability to be bonded. Ability to obtain Michigan Credit Insurance License. Ability to obtain and maintain NMLS ID.
