Job Title: Bartender
Reports To: Food and Beverage Director
FLSA Status: Non Exempt

SUMMARY Responsible for providing beverage service to club members and guests at Vasari Country Club
HOURS/DAYS Hours and days fluctuate according to the wants and needs of the members and guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspects the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies are available. Maintains efficient records for department leader of supplies and special items that are required or that need to be ordered. Knowledge of all bar products. Follows bar set up procedures/glassware. Prepares garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drinks. Mixes, prepares and serves drinks according to drink recipes. Recommends wine to members/guests and serves wine tableside when necessary. Maintains record of liquors, beers and wine to ensure par stock is maintained at all times. Complies with all laws/policies relating to the service of alcohol. Charges the bill to members account. Operates the expresso machine. Keeps bar and equipment clean, well stocked and organized. Performs clean up and closing duties. Greets members/guests. Performs end of shift reports and credit card reports and ensures that everything is correct. Advises Department Leader of any complaints. After finishing duties pertaining to the bar, he/she is to help on the floor until the entire team is finished for their shift. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum two (2) years experience as a bartender required (experience in private club preferred). Must possess knowledge of proper dining room service. Must possess excellent interpersonal communicational skills and ability to interact professionally with members and guest while under pressure .
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS TIPS Certified Emergency first aid certification preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES Requires ability to remember guest names Requires ability to utilize computer Must be able to work long hours during the season PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Requires constant (67% -100% of the time) standing or walking around for 6 to 14 hours daily. Requires constant lifting of food trays, dishes, tables, chairs and glassware (up to 50 pounds). Requires constant bending, carrying, reaching, and stretching. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Must possess the ability to walk to and from kitchen and tables in a brisk fashion. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The work environment will entail all food and beverage outlets. While performing the duties of this job, the associate occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
