Responsibilities
• Review installation drawings, qualification test data and reports.• Support change management through research, concepts, design reviews, trade studies, impact analysis, and implementation.• Ensure compliance with aircraft requirements from 14CFR Part 25, Transport Canada, and EASA.• Research specifications for component selections.• Assist with production and/or flight test personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving build and test issues.• Coordinate extensively with suppliers and internal support groups.• Work in a team environment.• Create system schematics, requirements documents, system descriptions, interface documents, wiring diagrams, certification plans, issue papers, functional test requirements, test plans, test reports, and design compliance reports for aircraft systems.• Review installation drawings, qualification test data and reports.• Support change management through research, concepts, design reviews, trade studies, impact analysis, and implementation.• Ensure compliance with aircraft requirements from 14CFR Part 25, Transport Canada, and EASA.• Research specifications for component selections.• Assist with production and/or flight test personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving build and test issues.• Coordinate extensively with suppliers and internal support groups.• Work in a team environment.
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.• Preferably experience in electrical/avionics system design or related field.• Minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical/avionics system design or related field.• Working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA) is a plus.• Working knowledge of Cybersecurity and System Safety aspects of certification is a plus.• Proficiency with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).• Engineering Design for Six Sigma or Six Sigma Process training is a plus.• Preferably knowledge of electrical, avionics, and wire harness design guidelines for CFR Part 25 aircraft.• Self-starter and able to decompose moderately complex projects into individual tasks and processes.• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.• Organized and able to work effectively with cross-functional individuals, departments, and organizations.• Positive attitude and disposition.
