At Fred Martin Superstore, we are looking for a Service Advisor.The Service Advisor is responsible for advising customers about necessary service and preparing work orders for repairs.This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities
• Advising customers about necessary service for routine maintenance• Identifying mechanical problems through questioning, visual inspection, or road test• Confer with customers about inspection results and recommend corrective procedures• Preparing repair orders showing time, cost, and labor estimates• Writing a brief description of the customer's concern on the repair order• Explaining the work performed and repair order charges to the customer• Handling customer complaints• Scheduling service appointments• Obtaining customer and vehicle data prior to arrival• Greeting customers in a timely and friendly manner and obtaining vehicle information• Test driving the vehicle with the customer to confirm the problem• Referring to service history, inspecting the vehicle, and recommending additional service• Advising customers on car care and the value of maintaining their vehicles• Providing a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts• Establishing promised time and obtaining customer signature on repair order• Establishing customer method of payment and obtaining credit approval if necessary• Notifying dispatcher of incoming work• Checking on progress of repair throughout the day and contacting customers regarding changes in estimate or promised time• Implementing and maintaining a service marketing program• Reviewing repair orders to ensure completion and noting additional work and authorization• Ensuring vehicles are parked correctly and maintaining service department forms• Implementing a quality control process to eliminate comebacks• Maintaining high customer satisfaction standards• Handling telephone inquiries• Inspecting vehicles for body work and providing estimates• Maintaining a professional appearance• Keeping work area clean• Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
• Previous experience in a service advisor role preferred• Strong customer service and communication skills• Ability to identify mechanical problems and recommend corrective procedures• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and manufacturers' specifications• Detail-oriented and organized• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment• High school diploma or equivalent• Valid driver's license• Ability to obtain credit approval if necessary
