Vrakas is a member of the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center (EBPAQC).
Responsibilities Gather audit documentation and complete the audit engagement file timely Plan administration: check how the plan is administered and if it complies with the plan document Plan operations: ensure that the operations of the plan align with the stated plan document and provisions Financial information: verify the accuracy and completeness of the plan's financial information Participant data: test the accuracy of participant data to determine eligibility for the plan Review Form 5500 and other governmental filings Identify audit findings and provide appropriate solutions Demonstrate organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines and a commitment to staying up-to-date on changes in the employee benefit plan industry Establish and maintain effective client relationships through regular communications Communicate with clients and firm associates in a timely, accurate, positive, and professional manner Opportunities Work directly with partners, managers, and other members of the Vrakas team Work in an environment structured around providing personalized learning opportunities Participate in benefit plan audit-specific continuing professional education programs Enjoy friendships, social activities and team outings Work within a firm culture that supports work-life balance Requirements Associate's degree in Accounting or related field 2+ years of retirement plan industry experience Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office products The ability to work effectively in a team environment both internally and with client personnel Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 2+ years of public accounting or equivalent experience Licensed CPA Knowledge of retirement plan industry, ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations and plan document issues Aggressive compensation potential, commensurate on past performance and experience; 401K, profit sharing, comprehensive insurance benefits portfolio, vacation, PTO, and more.
