Position Overview
We're excited to announce a tenure-track position in Communication/Cinematic Arts, commencing in August 2024. We're seeking an innovative and collaborative individual who embraces digital media, cultural diversity, and has a global perspective. As a faculty member, you'll teach coursework in Communication and/or Cinematic Arts while maintaining an active program of scholarship and service to the department and institution.
Key Responsibilities
Teach a diverse range of Communication/Cinematic Arts courses, such as social media, media and popular culture, public relations, organizational communication, film or communication theory, and introduction to video production.
Support the growth and success of our diverse student population through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methodologies, and providing constructive feedback.
Engage in active scholarly work, including presentations at conferences and published projects.
Maintain regular office hours and provide academic advising to students.
Adhere to campus and division policies, and actively participate in departmental functions and university committees.
Cultivate industry contacts related to your teaching area(s) and stay updated on changing technologies and field-related issues.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. or M.F.A. in Communication, Cinematic Arts, Media Studies, or related disciplines.
Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level with demonstrated teaching ability.
Evidence of scholarly/professional production through presentations and publications.
Commitment to equity and inclusion, demonstrated experience preferred.
Aptitude for remote, hybrid, and face-to-face instruction.
Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and integration of faith into teaching, scholarship, and service.

Salary and Benefits
Appointment at the Assistant Professor level, with consideration for Associate Professor rank based on experience. Competitive salary and benefits package.
