Assistant PCL Manager Job Description Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant PCL Manager to join our team at our facility located in Pontiac, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall order releasing and scheduling of raw materials, components, sub-components, and supplies for the facility. They will be responsible for shipping, receiving, warehousing, consumable supply purchasing, inventory, and all activities of material planning and control, including production scheduling and material flow within the facility, and the development of objectives, policies, and procedures/processes.
Duties and responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the activities within the PC&L department. Deliver cost reductions to attain company financial targets, while administering the highest levels of quality. Responsible to ensure that raw materials, components, supplies, and containers are available for production in time to meet customer delivery/demands. Supervise all planning, production scheduling, material releasing, and shipping activities to ensure customer demands and expectations are met on time. Provide leadership, discipline, and support to ensure the highest level of safety, housekeeping(5S), and professionalism within the PC&L department. Develop, supervise, monitor, and report departmental KPIs to meet or exceed targets for internal and external customer performance metrics. Ensure compliance with all related customer specific requirements, warehousing/material handling best practices, IATF, VDA, and company policies and procedures. Supervise planning and inventory control activities for engineering changes, part revisions, launches and buildouts. Create, Verify, Implement & Sustain new processes/procedures while enhancing existing ones and ensuring that all are documented with standard work instructions. Ensure inventory cost targets are met while developing action plans to reduce on hand inventory, in addition to attaining inventory accuracy. Work to optimize standard freight cost monthly in line with target and develop action plans to eliminate premium freight. Supervise the production schedule with efficient communication while ensuring weekly targets are achieved. Ensure ERP is being utilized for full functionality in supplier planning, production scheduling, logistics, inventory, and FIFO across PC&L. Supervise warehousing and shipping operations, including material handling, packaging/repackaging of finished goods, 5S, safety, PIV licensing, trucking/material movement, and customer ASN's, tickets, and other customer portal activities. Qulifications Bachelor's degree in related discipline. 3-5 Years of supervisory experience. 2-3 Years of warehouse and material supervisory experience. Proficient in ERP systems. High proficiency in Microsoft suite applications. Powered Industrial Vehicle license and trainer certification. Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others Previous experience in scheduling and inventory control Strong leadership and people management skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills You should be proficient in:
