Purpose and ScopeDirect the overall operations of the finance department to ensure financial goals of the property are met or exceededOversee expenditures to ensure that they are administered within the guidelines outlined in the annual business plan or other directives as they are developed
Responsibilities:Oversee daily operations of the income cycle including income audit, F&B outlets, and retail areasReview financial statement for timeliness, accuracy and completenessReview daily revenue, weekly payroll and overtime reports for timeliness, accuracy and follow upReview food cost reports for timeliness, accuracy and completenessUtilize systems and controls to ensure that the financial goals of the company are met or exceededImplement internal controls where necessary and investigate deviations in order to safeguard the assets of the companyPrepare monthly variance report from budget, by interfacing with department heads to determine the causes of variances, and identify areas for improvementAct as a liaison between the accounting department and operational departments. Train, coach and mentor department heads to be financially successfulEnsure/prepare all requested or assigned reports are completed on time.Assist in preparation of the budget processAct as an ambassador of the property/company at all timesEmploy a hands-on, open door style of leadership that reflects core value of companyUse effective and professional communication to ensure that the department functions properly and employee partners interface with one-another for effective execution in planning and operationsProvide any additional support to the CFO and Accounting team as business needs dictate, as well as any additional job assignments and/or special projects assigned by the CFO
Qualifications:Bachelors degree in accounting/finance. Minimum five years accounting management experience in hospitality or related industryMust possess strong leadership and communication skillsPreferred experience with ADP Workforce Now, InfoGenesis, ProfitSword, Agilysys, Visual One, Adaco, Labor Management systems and strong knowledge of Excel and WordProficient with Uniform System of Accounts and Lodging Industryor Executive Committee
