Assistant Comptroller Location Baltimore, MD (Morgan State University area) : Posting Details Posting Summary Job Title Assistant Comptroller Division Finance & Administration Department Comptroller's Office Dept Work Status Full Time Position Category Staff FLSA Exempt Pay Range N/A Minimum Commensurate with experience Maximum Commensurate with experience Fund Source State Support Job Duties Preparing and consolidating financial statements Establishing and maintaining internal controls including process documentation Managing all aspects of the general ledger Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses Coordinating or assisting with the budget process Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles using GASB standards and guidance Analyzing and reporting cost variances Serving as a liaison to external auditors Serving as a liaison to all internal customers including ad hoc requests Serving as a liaison to external customers including Maryland State personnel Supervising the travel, cash management, accounts payable and general accounting departments Requested Minimum Qualifications The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA). This position requires at least five (5) years of experience in Accounting or Finance, including some managerial experience.
