Assistant Coach-Women'S Basketball-Grad Assistant

CLASSIFICATION: 12-month, Part-time, Graduate Assistant REPORTS TO: Head Women's Basketball Coach and Athletic Director DEPARTMENT: Athletics LOCATION: Bernice Hansen Athletic Center, Grand Rapids, MI SUMMARY: The responsibility of the Graduate Assistant for Women's Basketball is to assist the Head Coach and her staff in various aspects of administration involving the Women's Basketball Program.
COMPENSATION: Full tuition benefit, not including fees and books, subject to financial aid guidelines. General stipend offered.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in administrative dutiesContribute in some ways to the organization and recruitment of student athletesProvide on court assistance to the head coachCoordinate team travel and meal orders for away competitions and tripsAssist the coaching staff in any film related activitiesCoordinate with student managers on the assigned tasksAssist in community outreach and alumni eventsTravel with the team to away gamesProvide help with team summer campsAssist in game preparation and scouting reportsAssist with management of social media platformsPerform other duties as assigned18 hours/week maximum, up to 936 hours/year maximumQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree requiredAcceptance into a Cornerstone University Master's Degree programPrior involvement in collegiate basketball preferred Willingness to tackle any task presented that is related to the progress of the team, student athletes, and the institutionDemonstrated professional organizational and communication skillsDemonstrated capacity for personal leadership and conflict resolutionProven capacity for self-motivation to meet deadlines and thrive in high-pressure environmentsPersonal relationship with Jesus Christ and active Christian commitmentA theology that supports the values and mission of Cornerstone University, as evidenced by an ability to affirm and sign the university's doctrinal statement, "The Cornerstone Confession"
