Assistant Bursar

Job summary
The Assistant Bursar is responsible for various tasks related to the Bursar's Office.This includes reporting Title IV funds, student billing, collections, and managing financial aid.The Assistant Bursar also provides customer service and supports the Bursar.

Responsibilities
• Manage student receivables and follow up on collections.• Adjust student accounts and reconcile registers.• Process financial aid and refunds.• Handle Touchnet and online student payments.• Oversee check refund processes.• Assist in implementing and updating the Student Account/Billing System.• Maintain knowledge of Federal Title IV Aid rules.• Serve as contact for Veteran Programs.• Develop and document processes for new technologies or policies.• Provide customer service and attend professional development activities.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required.• Previous work experience in higher education preferred.• Familiarity with Ellucian software or related management systems desired.• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.• Ability to work independently and under time-sensitive deadlines.• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and other software programs.• Availability to work nights and/or weekends.
