In your Asset Team Leader role, you'll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world.
The Asset Team Leader provides overall team leadership for the crews and the assets they operate in the areas safety, quality, cost, productivity, continuous improvement, housekeeping, good manufacturing practices (GMP), internal control, asset management, customer service, human resources and team capability development. This position drives continuous improvement on the assets in close partnership with the Continuous Improvement (CI) & Capabilities, Reliability and Engineering teams at the manufacturing site and with the regional team. Incumbent will set objectives that will have a direct and significant impact on plant and sector results and in the delivery of customer service for Kimberly-Clark.
As part of the Extended Mill Leadership Team, this role supports and collaborates with Mill Managers, Mill leadership, sector management, team members, and end users.
Responsibilities:
Support the loss control improvement process by championing, complying with, and enforcing critical safety rules. Visibly demonstrate safety is a core value by role modeling and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and maintaining a safe workplace. Report, investigate, and promptly address substandard acts and conditions. Ensure the development of processes, standards and equipment meets safety codes, policies and guidelines. Own the development of safety improvement plans for the department. Ensure safety investigations are completed and counter measures are in place per incident investigations standard. Ensure assets comply with pertinent housekeeping standards Demonstrate quality as a core value. Responsible for understanding and holding team accountable for upholding K-C's Quality policy and standards. Involved in setting and implementation of Quality objectives and evaluating the effectiveness of the facility Quality Management System. Provide the appropriate resources to maintain and improve the Quality Management System. Understands and ensures compliance with FDA cGMP based on degree of regulatory requirements as they relate to 21 CFR 820 (Code of Federal Regulations). Manage yourself in accordance with KC's values and Code of Conduct. Lead with high expectations around safety and team support. Provide informal and formal coaching for team members with the intent to build capability for a flexible manufacturing environment. Drive partnerships and collaboration with other mill teams (OPEX, Reliability, Training) to build capability within the Operations team. Build Talent in your team's Continuous Improvement Capability such as: Lean Basics, Problem Solving, 5S, Leader Standard Work, Visual Management. Demonstrate ownership of OPEX diagnostics of: Mindsets, Behaviors, and Capabilities Management Infrastructure Operating Systems Drive cultural and business improvements through development, ownership and execution of Tactical Implementation Plans focusing on performance and health of the process and team, visibly remove barriers, and ensure sustainability and health of the process. Participate in recruiting activities as needed utilizing STAR interview techniques. Provide leadership to ensure the mill attracts, develops, and retains the best people, fosters an environment which respects each individual regardless of their differences, and motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results. Lead the development of department objectives and action plans to manage cost of manufacturing (i.e. operating supplies, waste, labor, cost savings, etc.). Lead organizational change, build relationships, and drive performance. Drive out complexity and non-value added work in a standardized way across the site (simplify, standardize and collaborate). Provide day-to-day direction to process leaders and asset teams. Arrange for proper support from reliability and engineers for plan of the day. Partner with the reliability team to develop a strategy to manage maintenance costs and asset uptime through the following tools: Autonomous Care Improvement Team and Quick Change (SMED) Grade Change Design for Reliability Asset down planning, execution and reflection Site strategic reliability plans Reliability analytics Use effective business communication with all stakeholders, corporate support teams, employees and external contacts and customers. Manage vendor/supplier relationships with a Total Cost of Ownership mindset. Collaborate with Planning on the production schedule, rates, and sequence to deliver customer service. Partner with Logistics to understand impact of operations on downstream performance and customer demand in support of Adherence to Schedule (ATS). May lead a site strategy as a key thinker. Develop and maintain an External Cost Savings (ECS) playbook with Financial Analysts. Lead the team through LEAN and OPEX methodology. Achieve a yellow or green belt with Lean Six Sigma.   About Us:

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Position typically requires a bachelor's in engineering, business or relevant discipline and 5-7 years of related experience. The incumbent would typically have significant experience in Operations, Business, Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Maintenance. Demonstrates advanced knowledge in the people management and/or technical areas of expertise (or aptitude to learn) described in the role. Incumbent would possess demonstrated ability to organize, influence and lead a multi-functional team and foster a proactive team environment. Broad knowledge and experience in nonwoven technical is highly desired.  Experience in multiple mills, product systems and staff experience, along with leadership of a non-exempt workforce is highly desired. Work collaboratively and effectively with individuals across all levels of the organization. Proficient in LEAN business practices.
