The Area Medical Director acts with an owner's mindset, cultivating new ideas for driving business performance by leading the clinic teams, managing financial outcomes, and supporting patient retention and growth through effective operations and direct patient care.Areas include San Francisco, East Bay and South Bay.Key CapabilitiesCollaborate:Shares information with others so there are no surprises; facilitates effective collaboration among clinic medical directors, clinic managers, and external partnersDrive Outcomes:Eliminates obstacles that affect organizational performanceInfluence and Inform: Negotiates skillfully in tough situations; facilitates management of differences by addressing them openly and encouraging mutually beneficial resolutionsDemonstrate Accountability:Acts with a clear sense of ownership with exceptional organization and time management skills; establishes clear responsibilities and processes for delivering, monitoring and measuring resultsManage through Ambiguity:Coaches others in finding solutions and accomplishing goals despite incomplete informationDevelop Self & Others:Provide real-time coaching to others, mentors key talent and takes significant action for effectiveness in current and future jobCultivate Innovation and Creativity:Nurtures & develops promising ideas through prototyping and experimentation; encourages others to address challenges in new and better waysWhat You'll DoPatient CareDeliver up-to-date, evidence-based, and compassionate care to patients in clinicPerform procedures within scope of urgent care and/or primary careCollaborate with clinic team to facilitate efficient patient flow through the clinicSupervise clinical care performed by PAs and/or NPsDocument care in timely and accurate mannerPromote professional development for Clinic Medical Directors and clinician teamApproximately 20 hours/week of direct patient careOperations ManagementResponsible for the daily oversight and clinical operations of the clinics in your assigned districtIn partnership with the Clinic Medical Directors in your district, set, communicate and maintain the highest quality of care and safety standards Routine reporting to the regional leadership team on the state of clinic operationsFinancial AccountabilityAccountable to drive the financial performance and P&L oversight by ensuring the budgeted productivity, labor, and other expenses are achievedSupply management: Supervise clinic managers to review and routinely perform cost analysis and ensure supplies are adequately managedResponsible for being up-to-date and knowledgeable with regard to diagnostic and procedure coding, and how it affects reimbursement (training staff as needed)Experiential OutcomesPromote staff contentment, ownership, loyalty, and happiness by modeling the behaviors yourselfEncourage agility, transparency and autonomous decision making within teamsLead and take part in the coordination of community outreach and occupational health growth within your clinicsDefine protocols and processes for providing continuity of care with external managers of surrounding primary care, specialty practices and other patient referral sourcesPartner with regional leadership, people business partner and Clinic Medical Directors to elevate the employee experience in support of recruitment and retention within your districtAbout YouActive MD, DO, NP or PA license, board certified or board eligible; family, IM/Peds or emergency medicine 5+ years of experience in ER, urgent care or similar settingAbility to consult and treat patients of all ages3+ years experience leading others in a healthcare setting and experience overseeing multiple care sitesUnderstanding of financial statements, P&L management and HR business processesActive listener with soft skills to build and maintain trusting relationships at all levels of the organizationExcellent communication and interpersonal, time management, planning, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills$164.06 - $180.46 an hourCompensation offers include an hourly rate plus a wRVU bonus plan, and a Area Medical Director leadership monetary stipend. Compensation is determined by a balance of factors such as level of education, experience, work history, and geographic location. The Company complies with all state and local wage and hour laws and provides a total rewards package of compensation plus benefits including medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k) plan, learning and development programs, Learning Time Off, and Paid Time Off.
