Summary Bentonville Schools Adventure Club Group Teacher Qualifications: 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED
Location: Bentonville School District Elementary or Middle Schools Job Goals: Provide a fun, safe, stimulating, and educational environment for children
Hours: 1:30-6:00 PM Monday-Friday
Optional Hours: 5:45-7:30 AM Monday-Friday
Full time hours in the summer and during school breaks Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities Interactions with Youth
1. Plans for and implements pleasant arrivals and departures.
2. Uses routines as a time to build relationships and learning opportunities.
3. Shows respect for youth and encourages respectful interactions.
4. Uses Conscious Discipline language to build relationships and strengthen youth?s social and emotional competencies.
5. Uses indirect and direct guidance techniques.
6. Supports youth as they learn to resolve their own conflicts.
7. Strives to meet each youth?s individual needs.
8. Involves youth in the planning of activities and program space. Activities and Environment
9. Maintains a clean, organized, inviting environment that is safe and developmentally appropriate.
10. Plans and implements a variety of engaging learning experiences through weekly lesson plans. Incorporates STEM Projects.
11. Uses the outdoors as part of the learning environment.
12. Teaches and provides guidance for the development of good health habits.
13. Plans and implements a daily schedule that meets the needs of individual youth.
14. Accepts responsibility for shared space.
15. Ensures materials are rotated and sanitized and recalled or broken items are disposed of. Link for recalls is posted for parents and on site devices.
16. Maintains youth portfolios and updates weekly.
17. Successfully implements Program Quality Assessment standards. Professional Responsibilities
18. Meets program attendance requirements as outlined in the personnel handbook. Clocks in/out at assigned time and submits time off into Frontline or calls Kelly Education. Is punctual. 
19. Maintains professional appearance following program dress code.
20. Open to new ideas and suggestions for working with children and takes initiative.
21. Accepts responsibility for job-related tasks, including documentation and all record keeping. 
22. Meets program expectations regarding job performance as outlined in the personnel handbook. 
23. Meets program expectations for professional developments as outlined in the personnel handbook.
24. Attends all staff meetings and meets program expectations for professional development.
25. Knows and follows emergency and risk management procedures.
26. Keeps site supervisor apprised of individual youth and group?s status.
27. Completes all Better Beginnings requirements.
28. Accepts all assignments given by supervisors.
29. Maintains all program requirements: minimum licensing, program policies and Program Quality Assessment expectations.
30. Completes yearly self-evaluation.
31. Uses good judgment and keep information confidential. Interactions with Parents and Staff
32. Works to build positive relationships with parents, co-workers, school personnel and others.
33. Communicates effectively with parents, co-workers and others daily; avoids gossip.
34. Works as part of a team with concern for the entire program and is flexible.
35. Assists in planning family involvement activities to strengthen families.
Additional qualifications include enjoyment of youth, good mental and physical health, respect for diverse cultural backgrounds, willingness to complete training requirements, and willingness to undergo background checks required by law. About Us The Bentonville Schools Child Enrichment Services Adventure Club and Building Bridges programs provide quality childcare for children of working parents. Adventure Club is a before and after school program for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. There is also a summer program, which offers a fun and safe place for children. Building Bridges is for infants through 5 years of age. The program?s purpose is to serve the parents and students of the Bentonville School District.
