We’re looking for a smart, driven individual to join our growing Accounting team as an individual contributor.
As an Accounting Manager you have in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting systems, and strong motivation to contribute to the achievement of an efficient monthly/quarterly/annual close and financial reporting process. You pay great attention to detail and can deliver results under deadlines as well as work effectively cross-functionally in a rapidly changing environment.
What you’ll do
• Envision and execute improvements to day-to-day accounting and close procedures in corporate business areas of operating expenses, cash operations, payroll accounting, PP&E, intangibles, M&A transactions and other accounting operations.
• Perform accounting and control procedures related to highly visible and complex accounting transactions
• Review workpapers, journal entries and reconciliations prepared by Accounting Lead and Sr. Accountant team members
• Help build and maintain high standards in our work product to support our SOX compliance
• Assist in designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring corporate accounting policies and procedures; and assist in internal control and process documentation
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement flux variance analysis for management reporting
• Execute existing accounting and reporting controls and procedures during the monthly and quarterly close including departmental close packages, financial reporting reconciliations, support of financial reporting, analytics and efficiency metrics
• Provide leadership to strengthen the accounting team with a commitment to recruiting, training and mentoring of staff
What we look for
•6+ years of relevant professional experience is required (combination of private and public experience preferred) deep understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Recent experience in general ledger accounting at the Accounting Manager level at a public company, responsible for multiple lines on the balance sheet
• Strong knowledge of end to end accounting processes and understanding of financial statement line items
• Excellent analytical, creative problem solving, organizational and project management skills
• Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with interest in prioritizing and multi-tasking
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (such as VLOOKUP's & conditional statements, pivot tables, data analysis, data visualization, what-if-analysis)
• NetSuite experience is preferred
• The desire to improve broken processes and make your own job easier over time
• Passion for Affirm and a strong interest in technology
Pay Grade - CAN29
Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range.
CAN base pay range per year:
Min: $105,300
Mid: $131,600
Max: $157,900
