Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate. Three (3) years of progressively more responsible experience as a security officer, or equivalent. Must successfully complete compulsory certification training approved by the Virginia Center for School Safety within sixty (60) days of hire and successfully complete recertification training annually. Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment. Knowledge of the Fairfax County Public Schools security and fire alarm systems and the patrol functions of the Office of Security. Knowledge of the Criminal Code of Virginia as it pertains to crimes against school property. Ability to exercise independent, sound judgment and initiative in emergency situations not explicitly covered by school regulations, policies, or guidelines. Ability to supervise security staff. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with personnel at all levels and possess good interpersonal skills. Posting Title:
