Job summary
The Louisiana Department of Revenue is looking for a Revenue Tax Specialist 3 in Baton Rouge, LA.The primary function of this role is to examine and resolve data input discrepancies and questionable returns.Key responsibilities include reviewing taxpayer information, resolving account file errors, and providing technical advice.

Responsibilities
• Review, approve or deny taxpayer applications for certificates, exemptions, and exclusions.• Verify taxes reported and tax payments before issuing refunds or exemption certificates.• Resolve taxpayer problems with account registration errors and compliance requirements.• Assist walk-in taxpayers with tax return filing and application processing.• Provide informal advice and specialized assistance to taxpayers via email and in person.
Requirements
• Baccalaureate degree with six semester hours in relevant subjects.• Two years of professional level experience in accounting, tax accounting, or related fields.• Knowledge of tax laws, rules, and regulations.• Strong interpretational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
